The Flat Panel Display (FPD) Industrial Base is located in Xinzhuang Industry Park. Approved by Shanghai Municipal Government in November 2005, the Base covers an area of 4 square kilometers. In June 2007 it was approved as National (Shanghai) FPD Industry Park by National Information Industry Ministry. According to the development features of FPD technology and industry, the Base is planned to concentrate related upstream and downstream enterprises and R & D institutions so as to drive the development of industry chain spearheaded by TFT and PDP panels. The base will play a leading role in the development of Shanghai's FPD industry.
