Shanghai Caohejing PU JIANG Hi-Tech Park Caohejing Hi-Tech Park was approved as a state-level economic and technological development zone in 1988 as well as a state-level hi-tech park in 1991. Caohejing Hi-Tech Park currently tops the list of all development zones in China in terms of economic returns per unit area. Thanks to its successful development, Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park was approved by the State Council as an expansion for Shanghai Caohejing Hi-Tech Park's new round development. As a state-level economic and technological development zone, Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park has also been listed by Shanghai Municipal Government as one of the five key industrial parks in Shanghai.
Adjacent to Xupu Bridge (Outer Ring Road) and Lupu Bridge, Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is located in Pujiang Town of Minhang District. Enjoying excellent geographical location, it boasts convenient transportation, only 20 minutes' drive (16 km) to the People's Square and within 30 minutes' drive to Hong Qiao Airport and Pudong International Airport. The Metro Line No.8 planned to be completed before the end of year 2008 will lay 3 stations inside the park, and the cross-river tunnel (Middle Ring Road) and Minpu Bridge under construction will make the transportation more efficient.
10 sq.km Italian style town across Puxing Road, listed as the key project of "3 cities, 7 towns" by Shanghai Municipal Government, provides full supporting facilities for the hi-tech park, such as residence, commerce and education.
Shanghai Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park is composed of three parts, namely, Export & Processing Zone, hi-tech park and mixed-use part, totaling 10.7sq.km. It focuses on hi-tech industry development and will introduce the relevant supporting industries to facilitate the hi-tech development.
